Dr. Julie Paulsen is the owner/medical director and veterinarian at Cats & Dogs Veterinary Clinic. She has been raising and caring for animals for as long as she can remember. A native Floridian, Dr. Paulsen was raised in Palm City. As a teenager, she rode horses competitively and raised steers as a member of the local 4-H group. In 1996, Dr. Paulsen purchased "Just for Cats" and converted it to "Cats & Dogs Veterinary Clinic". The clinic has evolved into a full-service animal hospital to not only treat cats, but also dogs and pocket pets. She keeps busy managing the clinic and raising a family. In her spare time, she enjoys boating and fishing with family and friends.

Tomes, Associate Veterinarian, was raised in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio and attended a Liberal Arts College called West Virginia Wesleyan College there receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1988. He is a graduate of The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine being awarded his doctorate in 1992. His entire practice career has been spent in Martin County, Florida. He is a member of the board of Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and donates veterinary services to the sancutary whenever needed. Dr. Tomes specific interests lie in canine internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery as well as wildlife medicine and rehabilitation. He lives in Palm City Florida with his wife, two children and a plethora of creatures.

 

Barbara Hall, Client Service Representative, has worked in the veterinary field for 8 years. She has worked in various capacities, ranging from kennel assistant to technician assistant. Barbara has always had a love for animals. She states, "I love my job. Working with animals everyday plus the daily contact with our clients makes it very rewarding". She has the personal experience and passion for animals which combined make her an invaluble part of the Cats & Dogs team. She currently has 6 dogs, all of which were rescues, and a guinea pig named "Sweet Pea". Her hobbies include billiards, steel darts, reading and spending time with her 4-legged children and family.
